The Caps had a dramatic win over #5 ranked Grimsley yesterday. Junior Laura Robertson was forced to retire mid-match due to a painful knee injury that occurred in the first set. Heal soon, Laura, we need you!
Freshman Kara Summerford stepped up to take Laura's place in the doubles lineup, securing a needed win at #3 doubles with Asha Iyengar. Kelsey Boole showed her mental toughness by coming back from behind to win her #4 singles match in a tiebreaker.
The matches were so long and competitive, we ran out of daylight. So in the middle of the doubles matches, we had to caravan over to Carolina Country Club where the matches could finish under the lights. Great win under tough circumstances, Caps!
