Cross Country Update

Caps vs. Wake Forest-Rolesville, Heritage and Enloe (5k)

Broughton boys finish in first place with 5 out of the top 6 runners:
1st: Carter Hornaday, 3rd: Will Sandin, 4th: Chandler Holden, 5th: Max Hardin and 6th: Cameron Casadonte

Broughton girls finish in second place with 5 out of the top 8 runners:
3rd: Kayla Manring, 5th: Evie Copeland, 6th: Mary Campbell Rouse, 7th: LeeAnna McMillan, 8th: Markie Nickens

Addidas Cross Country Challenge (5k)

Broughton boys finish in fourth place with over 24 high schools competing. The race was highlighted by an incredible 2nd place individual finish by Sam Roberson (15:25). Other top runners were William Roberson placing 18th overall and Asher Smith-Rose placing 42nd in a total field of over 225 runners.

Broughton varsity girls placed third in the event with 19 high schools running. Highlights of the girls race were Mattie Blue taking 7th place, Megan Sullivan in 20th and Kyndal Boykin coming in 23rd out of over 170 runners.

Congratulations to the six Broughton runners who met the National Silver Standard:
Sam Roberson, William Roberson, Mattie Blue, Megan Sullivan, Kyndal Boykin and Kelsey Moore.
FYI- The gold and silver standards are set as national "elite" marks in track & field.  They act as goals to strive for and provide recognition of the athletes who have achieved this elite level.
JV boys and girls competed in a 2 mile competition with the following results:
Boys: 13th Peter Milsaps, 17th Rollings Freeman, 31st Austin Story
Girls: 5th Sofia Baneth, 16th Janie Fountain, 18th Wynn Mitchell
