Ladies and Gentlemen.....after a season of goal setting and achieving - the Caps are your 2012 Men's Golf 4A State Champions!
After finishing the first day with a team score of even par and a 12 stroke lead over their closest competitor the Caps knew they couldn't take any shot for granted - they headed to their respective tee boxes with this one last goal in mind.
Stephen Saleeby led the Caps in scoring - after a 67 on day one - Saleeby shot a 73 today to take the individual title, Harrison Rhoades came out on fire after a round of 76 on Monday and put up an outstanding round of 68 today to take 4th in the individual lineup.
Court Settle kept it steady with a 75 both days of the competition, Will Minton and George Kilgore both had rounds of 78 today and Preyer Fountain finished things out with an 81 - for a day two total of 294 and a team tournament total of 582.The tension was thick as spectators waited for the etching in of every last score. In the end the Caps hoisted the trophy with a profound sense of accomplishment - they headed back to Raleigh with a beautiful new piece of hardware for the trophy case - well done Caps, well done!
