In the XC CAP-8 Conference Championship on Tuesday, the Broughton boys won in historic fashion sweeping the first five positions for a perfect score of 15 points. Congrats to Individual champion William Roberson, and first team all conference runners: John Dalton Rohr, Asher Smith-Rose, Jeremy Brown, and Allen Lawrence. Earning 2nd team All-Conference for the Capitals were Peter Millsaps and William Sandin. In the second boys race of the day, Rollings Freeman won the race to lead a dominant Broughton JV boys team to victory.
Broughton was also well represented by the girl's Cross Country team: out of the 25 Broughton girls to run, 22 ran their fastest race of the season. Megan Sullivan was Individual Conference Champion with the fastest time ever run by a Broughton girl on our home course. The team finished second to Millbrook by a very close 3 points - less than one second separated the two teams. Kelsey Moore joined Megan Sullivan as First Team All-Conference while Mattie Blue, Mary Campbell Rouse, and Alison Berger earned 2nd team All-Conference. In the second girls race of the day, Hollis Hatfield had a huge race to win and lead a dominant Broughton JV girls team to victory.
