Women's Soccer Wins on Alumni Night
The Broughton women's soccer team defeated Heritage High School 2-1 on a cold and windy Monday night at Broughton. The Capitals opened the scoring in the 37' with a goal by Lily Schneider, her first of the season. The teams battled hard the first half and went into halftime with the Purple & Gold up 1-0. At halftime many former Caps women's soccer players were honored by the home crowd. The Huskies were determined to get on the scoreboard and in the 47' Marissa Sloan scored the equalizer. The Caps however, pressed the Husky defense in the second half and senior captain Caroline Brown notched her 5th goal of the 2013 campaign in the 49'. The Caps are now 5-4 on the season and 4-3 in Cap 8 play which puts them presently in 4th place. Broughton travels to Wakefield on Wednesday for a 6:30 p.m. kick-off against the Wolverines.
