CAPS TURN IT AROUND IN WOMEN'S SOCCER
The Caps returned home Wednesday night for a 6:30 p.m. Cap 8 fixture against Enloe. Broughton opened the scoring in the 21' with a goal by freshman Emma Willard. The game remained 1-0 at halftime. The Eagles came out fighting in the second half and netted the equalizer in the 71'. Our ladies were not going to let the game get away from them and freshman Sarah Grace Lasso got the winning goal in the 73' after chasing down a ball sent into the 18 yard box by senior Lena Wallace. Lasso struck it far post and it went through a hole in the net causing some fans to wonder if the strike missed. The goal was her 7th of the season. Willard notched her 11th goal of the campaign in the 76'. The Caps improved to 7-8 and 5-7 in Cap 8 play. Seniors Caroline Brown and Lena Wallace and freshman Lily Schneider were credited with assists. Senior Becca Shavlik and junior Lia Slaton received yellow cards. Broughton returns to action Monday night when they host Wake Forest-Rolesville at 6:30 p.m.
