Scoring runs for the Caps were sophomore pitcher English Dean (1 for 2, HR, 2 walks), with an inside-the-park homerun in the bottom of the first.  Junior Taylor Trigg notched a 2 RBI single in the second, scoring Senior Val Guzzo (2 for 4) and sophomore centerfielder Marisa Buonpane (1 for 2, 2 walks, 3 runs scored).  Scoring in the fourth inning were Buonpane and senior third baseman Cole Bellamy (1 for 2, 2 runs scored).  The Caps almost batted around the order in the bottom of the fifth, scoring Buonpane and Bellamy, with senior Morgan Buonpane adding a two out RBI single.

Defensively, the Caps turned the first double play of the year to close the top of the fifth inning (senior second baseman Garett Hedgepeth to freshman shortstop Lydia Seifert to junior first baseman Taylor Trigg) on the 4-6-3 double play.  On Thursday the Varsity Caps take on Sanderson High at home at 4:00.
