CapsLax End Season With A Loss In State Quarterfinals
The Men's Varsity Lacrosse team lost to a talented East Chapel Hill squad 12-6 on Friday night in Chapel Hill. After a 2-0 lead at the end of the first quarter, the Wildcats got on a roll and jumped out to an 8-1 halftime lead. The Caps spotted 2 more goals in the 3rd quarter, then staged a comeback in the 4th quarter before running out of time. Leading the Caps were junior Davis Weaver and freshman Mitch Snyder with 2 goals each. Sophomores Walker Rice and Hayden Lovett added 1 goal each. Mitch Snyder, Walker Rice, and Sophomore Zach Burgess had 1 assist each. While the scoreboard did not reflect the results they wanted, the Caps should be proud of their accomplishments. The Caps advanced to the final 8 in the State playoffs, farther than any previous Capitals lacrosse team. The Caps won the conference 3 (Cap 8) championship with a 13-1 record. With a final record of 16-3 and lots of young talent, the future is bright for CapsLax!
