Volleyball: Big Wins over Wake Forest and Leesville; Lady Caps Remain Undefeated in Conference Play

An exciting 3-1 victory over Leesville Thursday night in Holliday Gym capped a successful week for the Broughton Varsity Volleyball Team!  In front of a large crowd of both Leesville and Broughton fans, the Lady Caps prevailed in a tightly contested 4 set match. After coming out on fire with their offensive attack, lethal serving, and making some incredible defensive plays, the girls won the first two sets, 25-21 and 25-23.  The girls were one point away from beating Leesville in straight sets, but the Pride put on a serving show to steal away the third set 26-24.  The Lady Caps did not let that damper their aggressive play and enthusiasm and they fought hard to win the fourth set which saw the lead exchange hands several times.  They closed out the match with a 25-22 victory!

Earlier in the week, the Lady Caps travelled to Wake Forest and won that contest 3-1 as well.  The scores of the match were 25-14, 24-26, 25-14, 25-13.  This contest saw both teams with some fabulous attacks as well as some phenomenal digs!

The Broughton Varsity Volleyball team is now 4-0 in Conference play and 8-1-1 overall.  The Lady Caps travel to 4-0 Millbrook on Tuesday, September 10th and will face 1-3 Sanderson at home on Thursday, September 12th.

Come out and cheer the Lady Caps on!
