Volleyball: Lady Caps Win Both Matches!

The Broughton Varsity Volleyball Team won their home opener Tuesday night, August 27, vs. conference foe Enloe High School.  Excited to finally play at home, the Lady Caps put on an attacking show in front of a boisterous crowd and won in straight sets, 25 - 14, 25 - 13, and 25 - 20.  During the first two sets the girls came out on fire and never looked back.  The final set offered a closer contest, but the Lady Caps prevailed and captured their first home victory of the season.

The second match of the week on Thursday, August 29, took the Varsity Volleyball Team to Heritage HS where they met a young but defensively strong team.  After winning a close first set 25 - 21, the Lady Caps couldn't match the intensity that Heritage came back with in the second set and lost 13 - 25.  The girls made some adjustments and picked up their level of play significantly and won the final two closely contested sets, 25 - 22 and 25 - 21. It was a good conference victory to come away with.

The Broughton Varsity Volleyball Team is now 6 - 1 - 1 overall and 2 - 0 in conference play.

The Lady Caps will be playing at Wake Forest Tuesday, September 3, but will return home to face a tough Leesville High School team on Thursday, September 5, at 5:30.  Come out and cheer the Lady Caps on and watch some awesome volleyball on Thursday in Holliday Gym.
