The Broughton women's soccer team welcomed Wake Forest High School to Raleigh on a beautiful Spring evening and defeated the Cougars 3-0 giving junior goal keeper Allie Cutler her third clean sheet of the 2014 campaign.  The Caps opened the scoring in the 33rd minute with a goal by sophomore Sarah Grace Lasso.  Lasso dribbled down the left side of the pitch, cut into the 18 yard box, and fired a shot into the back of the net.  The goal was Lasso's third of the season.  Broughton took the 1-0 lead into halftime.  Nine minutes into the second half the Caps scored their second goal on an own goal that was credited to sophomore Emma Willard.  Sophomore Lily Schneider placed a nice corner kick into the box near post that brushed Willard and deflected off the Wake Forest defender's back and into the goal.  The goal is Willard's fourth of the campaign.  Schneider was not finished scoring the Caps third goal on the night in the 79th minute of play - her first of the season off a well-placed corner kick by Senior Captain Allison Gupton.  The Caps are now 4-3-1 overall and 3-2-1 in Cap 8 play with huge games next week with Leesville Road at home Monday night and away to Millbrook Wednesday night and an out-of-conference contest at Garner Thursday night.
