The Broughton women's soccer team finished the week on a winning note after traveling to Garner Magnet Senior High School last night at coming back to Raleigh with a 2-0 result.  As expected the Trojans played a physical style of soccer and fielded several fast players in the attack.  However, the Caps, who appeared tired after efforts against Leesville Road and Millbrook this week, absorbed the Trojans efforts and the match was scoreless until the 36th minute when sophomore Sarah Grace Lasso slotted a pass from the right flank into sophomore Emma Willard's run down the middle and Willard finished for the 1-0 lead which the Caps would take into halftime.  Five minutes into the second half, Willard would re-pay Lasso by sending her a nice ball as she darted through the midfield and Lasso fired her the Caps second goal on the night.  Both sides fought hard for the remaining 35 minutes, with many Caps supporters questioning whether the center referee had forgotten to bring his caution card, as several Garner fouls looked to be bookable offenses.  The Caps endured and finished the non-conference fixture 2-0.  The Caps are 5-5-1 and return to action Monday at 4:30 at Leesville Road to complete the season's earlier game that was postponed due to weather.
