CAPS DROP HOME MATCH TO SPARTANS
On Tuesday night rival Sanderson Spartans came to Broughton for a women's soccer match and went home with a 1-0 win.  The fixture was hard fought the entire night with junior Allison Gupton, and sophomores Emma Willard and Sarah Grace Lasso combining in the Caps attacking third and creating several scoring chances; however, the Caps were unable to finish.  Sanderson took it's lead in the 29th minute when sophomore Lily Schneider was called for a foul on a Spartan player inside the 18 yard box, setting up a penalty kick, which the Spartans converted.  Junior goal keeper Allie Cutler continued her exceptional play throughout the game as Sanderson continued to poke holes in the Caps defensive backline.  Broughton continued to fight in the second half and created scoring chances early in the second half followed by apparent absence in the attacking third.  The Caps drop to 5-7-1 and 3-6-1 in Cap 8 play.  They return to the pitch Thursday night at Wakefield High School.
