The Broughton women's soccer team traveled down New Bern Avenue Monday night as Enloe High School welcomed the Caps on its Senior Night.  Unfortunately, while the Eagles made the fixture exciting in the first half, they could not sustain the excitement and fell to their ITB rivals.  Senior captain Allison Gupton opened the scoring for Broughton in the 4th minute.  She would continue her inspired play later in the half sending a corner kick into the box to sophomore Kelly Ann Evans who quickly slotted a short pass to sophomore Emma Willard who was waiting at the goal mouth and jammed it in to put the Caps up 2-0.  Enloe's excitement for the night would come in the waning minutes of the first half when it scored two almost identical goals off lobbed kicks from about 35 yards out that were just out of the reach of junior goal keeper Allie Cutler.  After the halftime, Broughton would come out firing.  In the 50th minute Evans would score off an assist from sophomore Julia Stevens.  In the 67th minute sophomore Sarah Grace Lasso would get on the tally sheet with a shot that deflected off the Eagles' defender.  Sophomore Daisy King is credited with the assist.  Finally, in the last minute of play, Willard would find the back of the net again off a pass by Annika Meulink to put the Caps up for good 5-2.  The Caps improve to 6-8-1 on the campaign.  Enloe dropped to 0-13.  Broughton returns home Wednesday night for Senior Night against the Heritage High School Huskies.
