Varsity Caps Lax Team Win 3 Last Week
The men's varsity lacrosse team finished the week with 3 straight wins with two over Enloe and one over Wakefield. On Tuesday, The Caps beat Enloe 18-6. The caps jumped out to a 10-3 lead at the half, and a 17-4 lead at the end of 3rd q, before putting on the brakes and a running clock. Walker Rice led the scoring with 4 goals and 1 assist. Davis Weaver had 4 goals. Zach Burgess added 3 goals and 3 assists. Troy Jones had 2 goals and 2 assists. Also scoring one goal each were: Drew Hinton, Jimbo Dixon, Cameron Gilchrist, Hayden Lovett, and Joey Moore. Mitchell Snyder had 2 assists. Cameron Gilchrist and David Liggett added 1 assist each. On Wednesday, the Caps travelled to Wakefield to beat a team that had only one loss previously. The Caps won 16-7, making a strong statement in the Cap 8 conference. Zach Burgess led the scoring with 4 goals and 3 assists. Davis Weaver added 4 goals and 2 assists. Troy Jones had 2 goals and 2 assists. Mitchell Snyder had 2 goals and 1 assist. Walker Rice added 1 goal and 2 assists. Also scoring a goal for the Caps were: Jimbo Dixon, Jack Williams, and David Liggett. Liggett also had 1 assist. On Friday, the Caps travelled to Enloe to pick up where they left off beating the Eagles 17-3. Goalie Paxton Massarelli had 6 saves, leading a strong defense. Hayden Lovett had 6 forced turnovers and Joseph Winstead had 3 forced turnovers the keep the Eagle from establishing any offensive rhythm. Zach Burgess had 6 goals and 2 assists to lead the offense. Davis Weaver had 4 goals and 2 assists. William Rice had 2 goals and 4 assists. Walker Rice added 2 goals and 1 assist. Also scoring were: Drew Hinton, Max Hardin and Hunter Keravouri with 1 goal each.
