The Wakefield High School Wolverines defeated the Caps in a hard fought Cap 8 women's soccer game last night at Wakefield.  The Caps opened the fixture with an advantage in possession of the soccer ball and the sophomore combination of Sarah Grace Lasso, Lily Schneider, Julia Stevens, and Emma Willard, and senior Allison Gupton were moving the ball into the Caps attacking third and creating chances for Broughton.  The air went out of the Caps momentum like an untied balloon shortly after several substitutions were made when the Wolverines struck in the 31st minute to go on top 1-0.  The Caps were slow to recover and although junior 'keeper Allie Cutler made a great save, Wakefield was able to convert a ball that was not cleared and went up 2-0 in the 32nd minute.  Broughton kept up the effort in the second half and sophomore Kelly Ann Evans "toe-poked" the Caps only goal of the night in the 71st minute after Willard gave a great effort in chasing down a ball just wide of the left side of the 18 yard box and took a shot on frame.  Final score 2-1 Wolverines.  The Caps return to action Monday night at Enloe High School.
