The Caps (18-0) downed Leesville Road 25-20, 22-25, 16-25, 25-22, 15-13 in Tuesday's NCHSAA 4A 2nd round playoff game. Broughton fought back from a 2-sets-to-1 deficit to advance to Thursday's 3rd round tilt against D.H. Conley. The Caps were down 18-14 in the fourth set before outscoring the Pride 9-4 to force a fifth frame. The deciding set was tied 13-13 before Broughton scored the night's final two points to close the match. The Pride (13-7) called timeout down 14-13 but Tiana Butler hit a clutch serve and a kill by Katja Ehlers sealed the win.

Tiana Butler had 15 kills (.371) and 10 service points and Adria Johnson tallied 8 kills (.364), 7 service points and 4 blocks to lead the Caps. Katja Ehlers added 12 kills, 16 digs and 4 aces and Kati Smith posted 10 kills, 3 aces, 12 digs and 19 assists. Ryan Haar notched 19 assists, 3 kills, 3 aces and 8 service points and Rachel Byrd had 4 blocks. Lauren Brustoski picked up 16 digs and Genna Simpkins chipped in 12 digs and 3 assists.
