Playing in a driving rain throughout most of the first half, the Caps got on the scoreboard early when sophomore Abdulle Ibrahim finished off a pass from junior Ibrahim Mohamud to make the score 1-0 in the game's first minute.
Broughton dominated throughout the half, earning several corner kicks as they kept the ball at Enloe's end. They finally broke through with another goal when Mohamud scored from a difficult angle along the end line, with the ball deflecting off an Enloe defender. Senior Matt Brickhouse assisted on the goal to make the score 2-0.

Senior Chris Vlahoplus added to Broughton's tally about 10 minutes into the second half when he took advantage of an Enloe turnover to fire a shot into the goal from outside the box to make the score 4-0.
Broughton nearly scored again about seven minutes later when junior Bryant O'Neal struck the cross bar with a rocket of a shot off a free kick.
Junior keeper Benjamin McCord helped save the shutout for Broughton when he deflected a carom off an Enloe free kick with less than four minutes remaining in the game. Junior Jacob McCaslin scored the game's final goal, to make the score 5-0, when he finished off a ball in the scrum from a corner kick with less than two minutes to go. Junior Nick Mizero assisted on the goal.
As the #3 seed in the eastern half of the draw, Broughton will be home again for the second-round game against Heritage. Coach Nick Wheeler said after the game that the next game could be scheduled for Friday or Saturday.
