Men Swimmers Drown the Competition

     The Broughton Men's Swim Team swept Sanderson, Heritage, and Wakefield in a swim meet this week in a thriller that came down to the last event.  The Caps were losing to Sanderson by 3 points going into the final event, the 400 free relay.  With a first place by the A relay and a 5th place by the B relay, the men passed Sanderson and won by 7 points.  The Caps were led by Colter Carman, who took 1st in the 200 free and second in the backstroke; Bancks Holmes, who took first in the 200 IM; Smith Moran, who took 2nd in the IM and 1st in the 500 free; and Jack Messenger, who took 2nd in the 500 free and 1st in the breaststroke.  The winning 400 free relay consisted of Moran, Crandall Close, Carman, and Holmes.
     The Caps' next meet is the conference championship Saturday, January 31, at 8:00 AM at the Triangle Aquatic Center in Cary. The admission fee is $6.00.
