This was what the Caps supporters heard shouted from across the pitch by the Leesville High School coach Thursday evening as junior Lily Schneider lay on the ground after a hard tackle and obvious foul which caused the referee to stop play. On a rough night of physical play Broughton was only able to walk away (which was hard for some due to the kicks to ankles and shins) from the Pride's home pitch with a 1-1 draw. The sides went into halftime knotted nil-nil. In the 46th minute junior Julia Stevens cracked a splendid shot for the Caps only goal on the night. As the second half wore on, Leesville was able to get the equalizer in the 74th minute of play when junior Isabelle "Izzy" White, a current CASL teammate of Caps junior Sarah Grace Lasso, and former teammate of several other Caps players, found the back of the net. After two ten minute overtimes in which neither side could get the go-ahead goal, the game ended. Seriously? The Caps are now 10-1-1 and 8-1-1 in Cap 8. Broughton welcomes Wakefield's Wolverines to St. Mary's Street Wednesday night, April 29th, for a 6:30 p.m. kick-off. The Caps plan to "thank" the Wolverines for their only loss on the season.
