CAPS CONCLUDE GREAT 2015 CAMPAIGN WITH TOUGH LOSS

For the second year in a row the John T. Hoggard High School Vikings eliminated the Broughton Caps from the NCHSAA 4-A state tournament.  Last year it occurred in the first round;  this year in the fourth.  The Vikings played 5 defensive players against the potent Caps attack and marked junior striker Emma Willard with 2 players.  The Caps had no answer to Hoggard "parking the bus" in our attacking third.  Hoggard scored in the first half and parlayed the goal into a 1-0 victory and a visit to the Eastern Region championship game at Panther Creek High School.  Broughton finished the season 15-3-2.  Congratulations to the Caps on a terrific season and thanks to the seniors - Allie Cutler, Carson Taylor, and Dakota Zuehlke!
