Volleyball Wins at Wakefield

Broughton (13-0, 8-0) downed host Wakefield 25-12, 25-14, 25-18 on Tuesday night.  Katja Ehlers and Kalee Vanderhorst each pounded out a match-high 12 kills and Tiana Butler added 9 kills as the Caps outhit the Wolverines .301 to .154.  Rachel Byrd added 3 kills and a match-high 4 blocks and Kati Smith and Grace Youngblood each chipped in 2 kills.  Smith also collected 34 assists and 7 digs. Vanderhorst added 11 digs for her second double-double of the season. Alden Willis tallied 5 digs, Butler added 4 digs and Holli Smith picked up 3 digs.

Broughton had their best serving match of the year as they piled up 15 aces with just one error for a 98.6 serve pct. Ehlers led the way with 5 aces and Butler and Vanderhorst had 4 and 3 respectively.

Ade Owkoniran paced the Wolverines (7-9, 2-6) with 6 kills and 3 blocks and Gabbi Ingram recorded 5 kills and 2 blocks.  Erin Fox had a match-high 12 digs and Erin McEneny handed out 12 assists.

The Capitals travel to Enloe (6-8, 1-6) on Thursday while Wakefield visits Heritage.
