The Broughton girls’ lacrosse team remains undefeated after an impressive 15-13 road win Tuesday night over the Chapel Hill Tigers.
Broughton’s balanced offensive attack was led by freshman EJ Fuller and senior Farrell Guest with four goals each, along with Carol Seigler (3), Margaret Ann Warner (2), Hattie Warner(1) and Leaha Renee Burgess(1).
The Caps built an 8-4 halftime lead, and then relied on their defense to fight off an unrelenting second half attack by the Tigers, who scored 9 of their 13 goals after the intermission. Leading the Caps’ defense were Marcy Waters, Anneka Pace, Greer Eckard, and Reed Proctor, and Lily DiCaprio. Carson Harvey in goal repeatedly stopped the Tigers’ attack.
The Caps resume conference play tonight at 6 p.m. at Wakefield High School, last year’s conference champions.
