Caps Mens Golf has Strong Finish in NC High School Invitational

The Caps had a strong 5th place finish in the NC High School Invitational played at Treyburn today. The field was composed of the top 15 teams in the state including private schools.  The Caps finished second out of the public schools teams and also beat St. David's and Leesville which were the two other Wake County teams participating in the event. 

Playing from the back tees on this extremely challenging 6,900 yard courses the Caps were led by Junior Jimbo Stanley and Sophomore Patrick Carlin.  Stanley posted a one over 73 to make the first team all tournament team while Carlin posted a three over 75 to make the second team all tournament team.  Rounding out the scoring for the Caps was Freshman Biggs Hawley followed by Sophomore Colby Mitchell. Also putting in a strong performance for the Caps was Freshman Smith Brewer.

  The Caps return to action tomorrow at Heritage in Cap 8 play.
