Lady Caps Finish Strong

The makeup game against Wakefield, the only team to defeat the (former) Cap-8 leader Leesville (they've since been unseated by Cardinal Gibbons) was held Saturday at 2 pm. The Wolverines struck early with a header completion off a corner kick. But keeper Eliza Taylor, along with the back line, kept any serious threat away for the rest of regulation.

A goal by any other name was ruled no good by a linesman, but that didn't stop Emma Willard from another goal that the refs counted, off a textbook pass by Daisy King. Regulation ended at 1-1. In overtime, the Caps dominated. Willard lobbed another one in to put the Caps ahead 2-1. Taylor saved a couple to preserve the lead, and the hard-working Lady Caps ended their season with the dub.

Thanks to Coaches Parker and Hernandez, Coach Mastin, all of the team helpers, trainers, and assistants, and our great fans.
