Caps Soccer Falls to Sanderson

The #3 Caps suffered their third defeat of the season last night as they lost to a very good Sanderson team 3-0.

Playing their third game in in four days, the Caps never could settle in and while the first half featured several good crosses from Jack Ashby and Harrison Lee and shots from Abdulle Ibrahim, Cesar Gonzalez, Edson Candela-Perez and Donovan Nicholson, the Caps never really threatened the goal.  The closest exchange saw Sophomore Lucas Beeson's spinning header cleared off the line.  Sanderson had two chances and two goals to leave the game at 2-0 at half to them.

The second half did not get any better for the Caps and Sanderson put the game away with a goal 50 minutes in.  Broughton didn't stop fighting - which was personified by the black eye and shiner that Lucas received for a foul in the box - but the resulting PK from Andrew Rossetti sailed just over the bar and the best chance to score was lost.

Weather permitting - the Caps will play their fourth game in five days against @ Enloe at 6:30p.  Let's go Caps!!
