Nash Philbeck is a State Champion; Christian Hite places 4th

Nash Philbeck got hot and stayed hot during his run to capture the NCHSAA 4A individual wrestling State Championship at 145 lbs. Nash went 4-0 and defeated #7 ranked Noah Shaw from Mooresville 4-1, and also #1 ranked Diavantae Reddick from Ben Smith High School, 12-9 in a wild high scoring affair in the finals. You can read the N&O's article and watch the final match here:

Christian Hite also has officially arrived as one of the state's best. Christian won his first two matches to make it to the semifinals and stands proudly on the podium taking 4th. He defeated #7 ranked Daniel Goke from Page and #8 ranked Hunter Yost from Holly Springs to earn his hardware.

Braxton May-Nicholson and Nic Valdespino also won matches competing at the state tournament. Braxton defeated Laney's Cael Willis, the #6 ranked 4A wrestler at 152 before defaulting. Nic avenged a loss from this tournament a year ago by defeating Hough High's ranked wrestler, Carson Pervier.

Congrats to the Caps historic season!
