Leesville Hands Men’s Tennis their 1st Loss

Gustav Jelert getting the job done for the win in doubles

Caps played rival Leesville at home on Thursday and fell 7-2.  Broughton’s #2 doubles freshman team (Hardy Weatherspoon & Jackson Pace) and #3 doubles (junior Ross Bechtel & senior Jack Garside) were both locked in tight matches when they were called for darkness, with Leesville ending with more games in the unfinished matches. Freshman Joey Burroughs won the #1 singles court against a competitive Leesville opponent and with his doubles partner, freshman Gustav Jelert they gave BHS a quick win (8-1) at the #1 doubles court.  Next match will be on Tuesday, March 7 at 3:30 pm, away at Millbrook. Come out and cheer on the Caps!
