Last year in the fourth round of the lacrosse playoffs, the Lady Caps were playing Wakefield. At halftime the score was 8-7 in favor of Wakefield. Inclement weather mixed with lightning was in the area and the game was called before starting the second half and Wakefield was awarded the win due to NC High School rules. This season the regular season meeting with Wakefield allowed the team to chip away some of the pain from last years playoff game loss with a 19-8 win. The episode has been used as positive motivation this season. Be Better with a lightning bolt is the team mantra. Friday night the team hosts Hoggard in the fourth round of the playoffs. It's their opportunity to move one game closer to the state championship.
