Football Summer Practice Kickoff

Monday, July 31 is the first day of Summer Training for the JV and Varsity football teams. Yet, this isn’t the first day this summer they have used to prepare for the 2017 season. For most of June and July they have been conducting strength and conditioning sessions in the weight room and skills development on the field. The team attended a football camp at Mount Olive College, 7-on-7 scrimmages at NC State, and special teams instruction at East Carolina University.

Eight players have been elected by their peers to head up a new Leadership Council. These players will each lead a group of players that will work together and compete against the other groups. 

This season’s team is called Team 89 - marking the years since Broughton was established in 1929. Their slogan is Let’s Get It!

The varsity team plays two home games before the first day of school. 

August 18 vs. Apex

August 25 vs. Athens Drive

The JV season starts on August 24th at Athens Drive.

Head Coach Chris Dawson will be entering his second season.
